Privacy Policy for Bloka Tag

Effective Date: July 26, 2025 (updated for camera feature)

1. Our Commitment to Your Privacy
BLOKA ("us," "we," or "our") operates the Bloka Tag mobile application (the "Service").
We are committed to protecting your privacy. The Service is designed to minimize data processing and keep your configuration data on-device. We do not maintain user accounts or collect personal identifiers.
This page explains what data may be processed when you use specific features.

2. How the Service Works
The Service allows you to temporarily block access to applications on your own device using Apple's Screen Time frameworks (FamilyControls, ManagedSettings, DeviceActivity). These configurations (e.g., selected apps, presets, session settings) are stored on your device and are not sent to our servers.

2a. Camera Feature and Third‑Party Processing
If you use the optional camera feature, the app captures images you provide and sends them to Google's Generative Language API ("Gemini") for the limited purpose of determining whether two images depict the same physical object. The request includes: (i) the images you submit (JPEG, base64‑encoded) and (ii) a text prompt describing the comparison criteria. We do not receive, store, or retain copies of these images on our servers. Images are transmitted directly from your device to Google over HTTPS. Google's processing of your images is subject to Google's terms and privacy policies.

Important: Avoid including sensitive information or faces in images you submit. Do not upload content you do not have the right to share.

3. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, track, or store the following on our servers:
  • Personal Data: We do not maintain user accounts or collect identifiers such as name, email, phone number, or address.
  • Configuration/Usage: We do not collect which apps you block, your presets, session durations, or in‑app actions.
  • Device Information: We do not collect device identifiers or IP addresses on our servers.

4. Third‑Party Services
- Google Generative Language API (Gemini): Used only when you invoke the camera comparison feature to process the images you supply. Data sent: the images and a comparison prompt. We do not receive or retain this data on our servers. Processing is governed by Google's terms and privacy policy.
- Marketing pixels on our website: Our public website may use analytics/marketing pixels (e.g., Meta/TikTok) for site analytics and advertising attribution. These do not operate inside the mobile app and are separate from the app’s functionality. Please review your browser’s settings and the respective providers’ policies for details.

5. Links to Other Sites
Our Service may contain a link to an external website where you can purchase a compatible NFC tag. If you click on this third-party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit.

6. Children's Privacy
Our Service is not directed at anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with Personal Data (which should not be possible through the app), please contact us so that we can take necessary steps.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
